These Drinks Cause the Worst Hangovers

Published

on

Going out for the night for a couple of drinks with some friends or coworkers has become one of the main go-to night out events for anyone of legal age to attend on the weekends. Drinking helps people relax, wind down after a long day or week, and take the time to have a little bit of fun instead of focusing all of your time and energy on work, school, family, and the long list of things weighing on your shoulders all of the time. The worse part that follows most of these nights of drinking is the hangover, which really no one ever wants to experience but everyone has to go through every once in awhile, depending on what and how much you decide to drink. But the truth is, there are some drinks that you might decide to choose on your night out that will give you a worse hangover compared to others. If you’re looking to avoid a really bad hangover at all costs, here are some drinks that you might want to avoid the next time you hit the bar.

Pina Colada
Although this delicious combination of pineapple and coconut with lots and lots of rum sounds good at the time of consumption, the combination of the sugar with all of that alcohol is just going to make you feel horrible the next morning. Just because it contains fruit and makes you feel like you’re sitting on a warm beach somewhere beautiful, unfortunately doesn’t mean that it’s actually healthy for your body at all. In fact, all of that fruit that you think you’re drinking is most likely completely artificial in the premade mix that you can purchase at any supermarket, so you’re not getting a drop of healthy in that drink at all.

Rum and Coke
Chances are, you’re getting a drink that’s mostly rum and just a little bit of the coke, which is great for your buzz but horrible for the inevitable hangover that you’ll end up with in the morning. Yes they’re delicious, and a couple of them will definitely get you pretty drunk, but you’re not going to be enjoying yourself the morning after if you drink a bunch of these in one night. Even if you think you’re being healthier by ordering it with diet soda instead of the regular stuff, you’re still getting tons of unwanted chemicals into your body that don’t really mix all too well with alcohol.

Long Island Iced Tea
This drink has so much sugar and so many different types of alcohol in it that it’s impossible not to end up with a killer hangover the next day if you sit on a few of these in one night. Most bars create this drink with like five different types of alcohol being combined together with the addition of a little bit of coke and a ton of sugary syrup – not a combination your body really wants to handle.
