Through the last 30 years of cinema, few actors have been more uniquely beloved than Jeff Goldblum. While the 65-year-old thespian had some roles in major feature films early on, it wasn’t until he starred in The Fly (1986) that Jeff Goldblum became a household name. And he’s been making hit after hit ever since!

The Man Is A Living Legend

He’s got the Midas touch, big time: almost every film Jeff finds himself in turns into box office gold. The Big Chill, Independence Day, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou…the list goes on and on. Not to mention his time spent playing Zack Nichols on the eighth and ninth seasons of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Simply put, the man’s a legend.

While each of those characters is memorable in their own way, it was his portrayal of Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic Park that still holds a special place in many people’s hearts.

Absolutely Hilarious Tribute

That’s probably why the whole world lost their minds when this massive, hysterical statue of Jeff Goldblum (as Dr. Ian Malcolm) showed up one fine summer day in London recently! As you can see, it caught people’s attention for multiple reasons.

It had every single passerby delighted, but also asking the question: “Why?!”

For What Reason?

It turns out there’s a very good reason for this breathtaking piece of actor art. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Jurassic Park‘s release. And what better way to commemorate that memory than with a 25-foot-tall statue of one of the film’s most iconic characters?

This steamy 330-pound creation became Instagram famous with dozens of fans flocking to snap a pic with this gigantic Dr. Ian Malcolm. What an incredibly clever way to spark up interest for the latest installment of the film series, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which is currently in theaters everywhere.
