Sleeping Braless: What You Are Actually Doing To Your Breasts
Renowned, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgeon Dr. Randal Haworth worked for 6 years on creating the Nighlift, a bra that is meant for women to sleep in. Many women sleep braless, but according to Dr. Haworth, this can be detrimental for breast health. Sleeping without a bra causes the ligaments and the connective tissue of the breasts to stretch, which results in saggy skin.
“These tissues are like rubber bands and once they stretch out, there’s little anyone can do beside surgery,” Dr. Haworth explained.
Hence, Dr. Haworth created the Nightlift, which is specifically designed to protect breasts during sleep. According to Dr. Haworth, the bra does this by holding each breast in position. Besides for having cosmetic benefits, the Nightlift leads to a better sleeping experience by “alleviating the pulling and discomfort many women experience if their breasts are unsupported while lying down.”
In order to preserve the youthfulness and health of one’s breasts, Dr. Haworth recommends sleeping with the Nightlift, but he also has a few other suggestions.
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure so to speak. Avoiding weight fluctuations of over 15 pounds, avoiding weight gain of greater than 20 to 25 pounds during pregnancy, avoiding smoking and excessive sun exposure while exercising frequently are all part of the mainstays of maintaining a healthy mind and body,” Dr. Haworth said.
The Nightlift is the only bra that has been created specifically for the purpose of wearing while sleeping, and multiple styles are now available for purchase. They can be bought at www.nightlift.com
