Shane Black’s ‘The Predator’ Gets The 3-D Treatment

After half a dozen false starts on the release date, The Predator will finally hit theaters this fall. But first, the crew needs to make one last production tweak that fans have been demanding. Well, it looks like their wish is coming true!

Get To The Chopper

The Predator co-writer Fred Dekker revealed plans to release the movie in 3-D. One rumor that might explain the film’s shuffling release date is the implementation of 3-D technology. This process takes months to fully render properly. In March, the crew went back to Canada to reshoot some scenes. On Facebook, Dekker posted a photo of a restricted area sign with the caption “Hello, all. Currently in Vancouver shooting some touch-ups for our little movie. I can’t tell you what’s beyond this fence… except to say the body count is alarming.”

Dekker also announced that a teaser trailer will be released to the public in May. People that attend CinemaCon in Las Vegas at the end of April will get the first glimpse of the teaser.

The Hunt Will Begin

Director/actor Shane Black gave fans a bit of a tease on his Twitter account. The star posted a photo of a jungle with the caption “Shhhh…. He’s coming.”

This will be Black and Dekker’s third film together. The two first worked together on the 1987 cult classic The Monster Squad. In 2015, they reunited for the television pilot for Edge.

You’ll Never See Him Coming

Set for release on September 14, The Predator will take place 27 years after Predator 2. Aside from Black, Predator producers John Davis, Lawrence Gordon, and Joel Silver return for the new film.

20th Century Fox

The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, and Keegan-Michael Key. There have been rumors of Arnold Schwarzenegger making a cameo appearance as Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer. We’ll just have to wait and see when the flick drops.
