The Main Reasons Why [SPOILER] Perished In ‘Infinity War’

Published

on

People are still stunned by the events of Avengers: Infinity War, which earned over $1 billion in only 11 days. With so much to discuss, it might be too much for many. We’re going to discuss why one specific character had to die. As expected, there will be spoilers.

The First To Go

Many people speculated that Loki would be the first person to meet their maker in Infinity War. The seeds were planted at the end of Thor: Ragnarok. Loki decides to recreate Asgard on Earth after its destruction. Before he can do that, he runs into a large spaceship owned by Thanos.

A Bid Farewell

Infinity War kicks off with panic as Thanos has killed off half of the ship. After forcefully giving the Infinity Stone to Thanos, Loki tries to kill him with a dagger. Unfortunately, Thanos saw it coming a mile away and easily crushed Loki’s neck. Within the film’s first 10 minutes, Loki was dead.

Change Of Heart

Loki’s death was a great way to close out his story of redemption. Originally an enemy of Thor and then the Avengers, he eventually became his estranged brother’s ally once more. Thor: Ragnarok showed Loki’s pivot back to a heroic role. With Thor down because of his missing right eye, Loki was able to take down Hela with the aid of Surtur.

The Last Straw

Another reason why Loki had to die was to push Thor over the edge. Throughout the films, Thor managed to lose very important people in his life. In Thor: Ragnarok, he lost his father and had to battle his evil older sister. Losing everything made Thor want to become a better hero.

A Possible Revival?

The big question is whether Loki will be making a comeback, but many fans aren’t expecting a return for Thor’s brother. Thanos did state “no resurrections this time” after killing him. Surprisingly, Loki is set to return in Avengers 4, but maybe it will be in a ghost form.
