Princess Diana’s Ex-Lover ‘Fights for Life’ After Heart Attack, Stroke

James Hewitt, a former British Army Officer known to be the former lover of Princess Diana, was reported to be in critical condition after suffering a heart attack before he was about to undergo a medical procedure.

In addition, Hewitt reportedly suffered a stroke, which lead to further complications. Eventually, the 58 year old had to be operated upon immediately. The doctors said his chance of survival was “slim” as he was placed him in intensive care. Still, his relatives and family are keeping the faith that Hewitt will survive this ordeal.

Hewitt’s condition is much talked about as he was currently in the spotlight, giving a controversial interview a couple of weeks before his illness.

The interview was meant to finally put an end to the long-standing rumors that Hewitt is Prince Harry’s father. He categorically denied the rumor.

It can be recalled that one of the biggest scandals that rock the royals was when Princess Diana had an affair with Hewitt in the 1980s while still being married to Prince Charles. Note that Diana and Prince Charles separated in 1992 and later on divorced in 1996.

In 1995, the affair was made public after Princess Di admitted in an exclusive Panorama interview that her relationship with Hewitt went beyond a close friendship.

“Yes, I adored him [Hewitt]. Yes, I was in love with Him. But I was very let down,” she said in the interview when asked if she was unfaithful.

In the same interview, she also expressed her regret that she was used by Hewitt, whom she trusted. He wrote a book detailing their relationship, which according to Princess Diana was mostly fantasy.

“There was a lot of fantasy in that book and it was very distressing for me that a friend of mine, who I had trusted, made money out of me,” said Diana.

Sadly, decades later Hewitt still made money out of Princess Diana as he was reported selling Diana’s letters revealing their relationship for 100,000 pounds in 2015.
