Why the Premiere of The Arrangement Has Got Everyone Talking

Published

on

Many shows are ending in 2017 and so few beginning. This year’s new show on the E! network has gotten a lot of buzz. The Arrangement, starring Josh Henderson and Christine Evangelista, premiered this past Sunday right after a showing of 50 Shades of Grey.

The scripted show follows the story of a young actress, Megan Morrison, who wins the role of paid girlfriend and future wife of the biggest actor in Tinseltown, Kyle West.

No doubt the show has an attracting story line and promises to be just as sexy, if not more, than shows like The Affair (we all know less is more). However, there are a few things about the show that has the internet buzzing and viewers scratching their heads.

For one, fans have pointed out similarities between the show and Beauty and the Beast,  spotting feminist messages and undertones throughout the first episode. Some have even gone so far to point out that Megan is like a modern day Belle – meek and hoping to change her suitor for the best. A lot of viewers have also speculated whether the show has any ties to actual celebrity marriages in Hollywood. Could this be a behind the scenes scripted show about the secret lives of our favorite celebrity couples? Unfortunately, we will never truly know the answer to that unless celebrities decide to sit down for a tell all.

The other coincidence that has a lot of viewers confused is the similarities between Megan and Kyle’s world, which resembles a lot of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s scientology based marriage. For one, the title of the show: The Arrangement.

The main heartthrob, Kyle, seems to be tied to a cultish self-help organization named The Institute of the Higher Mind, which has viewers believing this is an homage to scientology. Cast and creators of the show have maintained that The Arrangement is different and that this “self help” group Kyle is associated with is not a religion rather an actual self help group.

Regardless of what similarities the show may have with a certain celebrity religion or a favorite Disney movie, viewers all across the country have agreed that they would be delighted to  sign up to marry the hottest Hollywood actor AND get paid for it, if given the chance.

The rest of the season of The Arrangement is sure to be steamy, sexy, and very entertaining. Viewers will just have to wait and see if Megan and Kyle’s relationship follows the same path of Katie and Tom’s.
