Actress Natalie Portman and husband Benjamin Millepied welcomed their baby girl, Amalia Millepied, to the family, last week, on February 22.

This is the second child for 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress, and her husband, former dance director of the Paris Opera Ballet, and a choreographer who worked with Portman on Black Swan. The couple are parents to son Aleph, 5.

It’s no secret that the very private couple has kept a low profile during the pregnancy and has barely talked about it publicly. Portman, who doesn’t have any public accounts on social media, did not post the celebratory news to social media like most celebrities do.

Though Portman was unable to attend the 2017 Oscars and the 2017 Independent Spirit Awards, due to the birth of Amalia, it was reported that she told E! News, “I feel so lucky to be honored among my fellow nominees and wish them the most beautiful of weekends.”

In November, Portman appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, commenting on her pregnancy, stating, “It’s weird because I’m a small person in general, so you show a lot faster and a lot more when you’re small.”

She went on to say, ”Everyone thinks I’m about to pop and about to give birth any minute, and I have months to go…I went to the store the other day to buy water and the guy at the checkout counter was like, ‘Almost, huh?’ I was like, ‘No! Not at all!’”

Her newest film, Jackie, which grossed $275,000, it’s opening weekend in just five theaters, will be released to DVD on March 7. Portman has several movies coming out in 2017, such as The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, Song to Song, Annihilation, The Biologist, and The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards. Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that Portman will be reprising the role of Jane Foster, in Thor: Ragnarok.
