After season two of Luke Cage debuted, many people were thrilled by the show’s heart-pounding action and engaging plotlines. Naturally they wanted more, and season three is just around the corner. Star Mike Colter reveals a few tidbits about what fans can expect when they watch the upcoming season.

Mike Colter explains that after the dark endings of season two, Luke Cage must battle his inner self and not fall prey to the dark temptations Harlem has to offer in its circles of crime. Cage must own up to the responsibility of his power, and struggle to become a hero again.

While Luke gains power in Harlem, he must battle the temptation to abuse this position of authority and prowess he has gained. What good is a hero who can’t resist the urge to control his boundaries when in a position of power? This major test for the hero and the question of whether he can contain himself is the tension driving the narrative in this season, according to Colter.

According to Luke Cage writer Cheo Hodari Coker, Luke Cage will complete a story arc by the end of season three. However, this is not the end for Luke Cage. Season three’s ending will open up doors for personal exploration for this character. Undoubtedly, this is exciting for both fans and actors of the show.

Even though this is a new season for Luke Cage, the familiar characters fans have come to know and love will be returning for season three. Mustafa Shakir as Bushmaster will return as well as Gabrielle Dennis playing Tilda Johnson. While there may be more returning characters, they have yet to be revealed.

Showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker hinted while discussing season three that there might be a spinoff series for Luke Cage instead of another season to follow.
