Lorde Releases New Song And It’s Fire
New Zealand singer, Lorde just released her new single, Green Light, after a two year hiatus. The single is her first release off her sophomore album, “Melodrama.” Lorde tweeted to her followers, “it’s the first chapter of a story i’m gonna tell you, the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of my life. this is where we begin.”
Lorde’s first album, “Pure Heroine,” was released in 2013, and quickly climbed the charts. Now, even after her hiatus fans and celebs have come together alike to support her new song release and video which was directed by Grant Singer, who is best known for working with The Weeknd.
Lorde’s new release has fans buzzing, like Hayley Williams from Paramore who tweeted, “A tweet isn’t ever going to be enough to help me say how thankful I am for what @Lorde just did for pop music in 2017.”
Lorde Tweeted in excitement this week, “i am so proud of this song. it’s very different, and kinda unexpected. it’s complex and funny and sad and joyous and it’ll make you DANCE.”
After taking a break from touring in 2015 and 2016, Lorde was confirmed to play at this year’s Coachella with other big names such as Radiohead and Beyonce. Lorde is also set to perform on Saturday Night Live on March 7.
In addition to performing at Coachella, she’s confirmed to to perform in New Orleans, New York, Houston, Manchester (TN), St. Gallen, and Nigata in 2017, so far.

She has yet to announce a release date for her new album. Only time will tell. You can listen to her new song, Green Light, on Spotify, iTunes, and Vevo.
