If you have tickets for any of the upcoming shows for rapper Kodak Black’s “Back and Better” tour, you should probably check with the venue. Black, born Dieuson Octave, was arrested on February 28 for violating the terms of his house arrest and is in jail. Several venues have cancelled his shows. Others have postponed them indefinitely.

In October 2015, Kodak was arrested after several people alleged he had forced them into a car. In April 2016, he was arrested again in a drug deal case. Rather than risk a sentence of at least 55 years in jail, he took a plea deal in which he plead “nolo contendere” (no contest) to several charges. They included fleeing law enforcement, possession of a firearm by a delinquent, robbery and false imprisonment. The deal gave him one year of house arrest and five years of probation. Under the terms of his house arrest, he can attend court mandated classes, community service activities and pre-approved work events.

Kodak faces several charges of violating the terms of his plea deal.

The rapper violated the terms of his sentence in a few ways. On February 1st, he went to a Miami strip club and then on February 18, he went to at a boxing match in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also failed to complete a court mandated anger management class. His probation officer, Sandra Friedman said, “the offender was instructed to attend the Anger Management Program at 5th Street Counseling Center, and on 2/14/2017, he was unsuccessfully discharged from this program.”

Kodak has his next court appearance on March 10 and will remain in the Broward Country jail until then. His record label, Atlantic Records, issued this statement:

“We are sorry to hear about the recent circumstances surrounding Kodak Black. His lawyers are working diligently on this matter and are hopeful that this will be resolved by next week. The remainder of Kodak Black’s ‘Back and Better’ Tour has been postponed. Details on rescheduled tour dates forthcoming.”

One thing that is clear, the public will know more about the fate of the “Back and Better” tour after March 10, 2017.
