Dad Jumps into Action After Stranger Tries Kidnapping Son in Duffel Bag
An Indiana father is being commended after stopping his son’s abduction after he used his fatherly instincts and went full “beast mode” after a stranger who had asked for help tried to kidnap his son by stuffing him into a duffel bag.
According to a report by CBS Chicago, the father, Ron Kraus, and son Ryker were out in the front yard preparing for the toddler’s first birthday party when a man wearing a white T-shirt and gray camouflage shorts approached them asking for some water for his allegedly overheated vehicle parked in front of their driveway.
Ron immediately obliged to assist a stranger in need but when he slid the door open to get some water near the front door, he saw from the corner of his eyes, the stranger frantically trying to stuff Ryker in a duffel bag.
The dad immediately ran to save his son and hit the abductor right on the head. When he thought that the man was unconscious, he brought Ryker inside the house to check if the kid was okay and called 911.
Unfortunately, the kidnapper already fled. Local authorities are still on alert, searching for the man.
“I hope he gets caught. I hope that they’re able to take the information that we’ve given them and I hope that they stop him before he does it again,” said the father.
The incident proved once again that parents can readily go into “beast mode” whenever their child’s safety is threatened or compromised.
Ryker barely avoided being the victim of a horrible crime but his demeanor in the video showed him looking calm and serene, possibly because he knows that he will always be safe when daddy is around.
