The Outside World Johnnie Walker Has Good News For Whiskey And ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans Published 4 weeks ago on Oct 19, 2018 By Jade Wilson Are you a fan of Game Of Thrones? Do you like to drink whiskey? If so, you’ll be happy to hear Johnnie Walker’s latest announcement. The alcohol brand recently revealed it will be releasing a special edition of its Scotch whiskey inspired by the hit TV show. Johnnie Walker Releases White Walker Whiskey The whiskey is a blend of two single malts that come from Cardhu and Clyneish distilleries in northern Scotland. The drink will be an ode to the show’s most formidable and feared undead characters, the White Walkers. HBO, Johnnie Walker Unsurprisingly, the whiskey is best-served ice cold. Apparently, much thought and planning went into the design of the bottle’s packaging and labeling. Once it reaches a freezing temperature, the thermochromic ink on the label turns blue to read “Winter is here.” Special Edition Whiskey To Be Sold In Stores and Airports Right now, it is currently available for sale in the U.K. via Amazon Now, though it will soon be available both in stores and in airports at the suggested retail price of $36 — just in time for the holidays. Fandom “We are very proud to have our collection of single malts and Johnnie Walker, the number one scotch-whiskey brand in the world, collaborate with HBO’s most successful TV franchise to develop these limited-edition offerings for fans to collect and celebrate the final season of Games of Thrones,” said DIAGEO Senior Vice President Dan Sanborn. Eight More Varieties To Be Released The White Walker whiskey is just one of nine Game Of Thrones varieties Johnnie Walker is releasing. Seven will be named after each one of the Westeros‘ houses, and one will be a nod to the Night’s Watch. HBO “We knew there was fan appetite for a Game of Thrones whiskey and once we saw Diageo’s vision for a way to collaborate together we knew the idea was perfect and the time was now,” said HBO Vice President, Licensing & Retail Jeff Peters. “We’re confident fans will enjoy sipping these delicious whiskeys as they wait for season eight and beyond.” Next: ‘The Wild Bunch’ Remake Finds Its Director In Mel Gib...
