Game of Thrones’ Hodor is Speculated to Return in Season 7

While we are just two months away from the first episode of Game of Thrones Season 7, speculations are circulating that the gentle giant and simple-minded Hodor will come back from the dead and appear in the coming season.

The death of Hodor

Game of Thrones

A teaser trailer of GoT’s Season 7 has been released in HBO and social media revealing the fate of one dead character could return and fans are guessing it could be Hodor. One teaser, which was posted on Twitter is a clip showing GoT characters and their wardrobe in the next season. In the clip they all make an “Ahhhh…” sound, and one of them was Hodor not saying “aahhh”, but yes you’ve guessed it, “Hodor”.

Hodor, who was played by Kristian Nairn died in season 6 as he held the door so Bran and Meera have enough time to escape the White Walkers. The teaser promo is said to be showing the only castmembers who will appear in season 7; thus, fans went crazy over the thought that the beloved pure-hearted character will be returning. While he could come back and play as a White Walker, Nairn didn’t like the idea at all as told to Independent when asked if he’d return as a zombie.

He said, “As much as I would like to come back and play a White Walker, I think it would be wrong. There are too many emotions tied up, it would be a bit of a travesty to bring him back. If they’re going to do it, I’m sure they’d find a really cool way to do it. Whatever happens, it’s probably not going to end well. A zombie Hodor is not a pretty thought.”

When asked what’s next for the actor after his character from the GoT is dead, he said, “Something always turns up.” Nairn also has his hands on DJ tour, the “Rave of Thrones”, which was his other project since he was assigned in the GoT.  “I’ll continue to write music but I’m busy with other projects. I don’t even know how to begin telling you how busy we are. There’s not as much worry about where the next jobs going to be,” the actor said.
