With over 84,000 followers on Instagram, it’s safe to say that she’s gathered up a following, and it’s easy to see why. She’s so cool!

She’s the Real Deal

She says she buys all her outfits, so that sick style is 100% pure unadulterated Moon Lin. She also styles the shots herself—in fact, most of the time they’re selfies, taken with a selfie stick. Seriously, can we take lessons?

She does occasionally get help from strangers—which is actually how she went viral in the first place.

She asked a guy on the street, Yi Hong Lee, to take a photo of her for her account (seen above). Lee then shared the photo and the story in a popular Taiwanese Facebook group:

“This is the grandma I met downstairs today. She asked me if I could take a photo for her to post. I chatted with her a bit and found out she’s actually 88 years old. Truly she was just old physically but not mentally. I immediately added her on Facebook (She is the oldest girl I have ever asked to add on Facebook….). Here’s her Instagram.”

Just like that, the account took off.

Did she set out to become an international sensation?

Nope! She says she’s just doing what she would have been doing otherwise. This is how she acts and dresses anyway. She started on Instagram because she says that styling and posing for the shots makes her feel young. Makes sense!

The fact that she’s a style all her own isn’t just impressive — it’s a good reminder that you don’t need a stylist or a detox tea to have a killer Instagram. Just be yourself!
