Some feel-good moments are so indescribable that words simply won’t do – actions say it all.
For 11-year-old Tannah Butterfield, an update on her potential adoption made her so happy that she experienced one of these moments. Words didn’t even exist to express how elated she was!
The Phone Rang And Her Dream Came True
Tannah and her two siblings, Teagun, 6, and Tallie, 2, had been with a foster family, the Fishers, for the better part of two years.
She wanted nothing more to be adopted by the Fishers and officially join the family.
While in class at the American Heritage School in Utah, sixth-grader Tannah was called fby the school’s office manager, Jackie Alexander. She had just received the news that Tannah so desperately wanted to hear: her foster family had completed her permanent adoption.
A Purely Happy Moment Was Caught On Camera
When Tannah heard the news, she felt pure joy and leaped into the arms of Alexander. Surveillance footage captured the embrace and people all around the world have been watching it with delight!
“She just kept holding me tight, she kept holding me tighter and tighter,” Alexander, known as “Ms. Jackie” to Tannah, said.
Ms. Jackie says that over the past two years she’s become close friends with Tannah and her adoptive parents, the Fishers.
Tannah says that her dream of a “forever family” has finally come true!
“They are just caring, loving, they take really good care of me,” said Tannah. “My heart was so happy, it was like, ‘Ahhh!’ It was screaming.”
The Best Moment Of Ms. Jackie’s Career
Due to their growing friendship, Jen and Jeff Fisher felt that they had to call Alexander and tell her the great news. They also gave her the honor of letting her share the news with Tannah.
“In 12 years at this job, this is by far my best moment ever,” Alexander said. “To tell a little girl that she gets her family forever takes the cake. I can’t even describe that hug.”
We wish Tannah the best with her new “forever family”!
