The cosplay at San Diego Comic Con has always been top notch. This year, many outstanding cosplayers displayed some of their finest work yet. One Hollywood star decided to join in on the fun.

Super Mario Is Pleased

The stars of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald were set for a packed panel inside Hall H. While Johnny Depp arrived at the panel in character, Ezra Miller decided to one-up him. The New Jersey native arrived at the panel as Toadette from Super Mario Bros., which was a hit with the crowd.

Following the panel, the actor posed for the camera backstage with his co-stars. Fans that saw Miller walking around the con also tracked him down for a picture. In an interview with SYFY, he explained why Toadette is a perfect example of a fantastic beast. “They’re genderless beings. They’re not mushrooms even though it’s understandable why people thought they were. They’re, you know, adventure pals,” he said.

A Cosplay For Every Day

This isn’t the first time Miller has shown off his cosplaying skills. At the 2016 installment of San Diego Comic Con, he showed up as Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
