Check Out Ewan McGregor’s Hysterical Reaction to This “Solo” Cameo

*SPOILER ALERT* If you haven’t seen Solo: A Star Wars Story, beware, there are spoilers ahead. But, we must say, hearing of the sheer glee exhibited by the adorable Ewan McGregor does make it completely worth it.

A Lukewarm Reception

Even though some reviews have been a little lackluster for the Han Solo origin story, most people were pleased to have another Star Wars story to geek out over.

Nerdist

Donald Glover’s take on a young Lando Calrissian (originally portrayed by Billy Dee Williams) was especially appreciated. The praises for the actor and singer-songwriter have been pouring in since his debut as the smooth-talking smuggler.

Surprises Galore

Again, if you haven’t seen the movie, sorry for the spoilers. The intergalactic franchise has often rewarded movie-goers with guest appearances. They brought back the original space stars in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, like the late Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia and Harrison Ford as Han Solo. Even Mark Hamill reprised his role as one of the greatest Jedi of all time, Luke Skywalker! But we often forget, with all these heroes, the dark side has to maintain balance…

Many fans welcomed a sneak attack cameo from the villain everyone loves to hate, Darth Maul! The dark-side enthusiast gained popularity after he was first seen in The Phantom Menace. His terrifying look and scary demeanor, combined with his double-sided red lightsaber, were an immediate hit.

Ewan Was Giddy!

Ray Park, the actor and stuntman who first played Darth Maul in 1999, had the extreme pleasure of viewing Solo with none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi himself.

As the red and black, horned face of Darth Maul appeared, Park recalls Ewan McGregor having a total freak out. McGregor allegedly grabbed Park’s arm, shaking him so hard and fast that Park nearly missed his own cameo! I guess he’s a fan just like the rest of us.
