For many young girls growing up, living in the Barbie world would be a dream come true. For Emily Blunt and her co-star Lin-Manuel Miranda, this fantasy actually became a reality. Disney and Barbie recently released a Mary Poppins Returns doll set with Blunt and Miranda’s characters as Barbie and Ken. Here’s what you need to know about this holiday season’s biggest toy:

Mary Poppins Returns: Your Holiday Box Office Hit

Mary Poppins Returns is gearing up to be the biggest family movie of the 2018 holiday season. Disney released their synopsis of the film, claiming that, “Mary Poppins is back to help the next generation of the Banks family find the joy and wonder missing in their lives after they experience a personal loss.”

The film stars Emily Blunt (well-known for The Devil Wears Prada) as Mary Poppins and Lin-Manuel Miranda (star of Hamilton) as Jack the Lamplighter. Their recent successes in film and theatre have made this film a great anticipation for adults and children alike.

These Dolls Look Just Like Blunt and Miranda

Disney and Mattel did a fantastic job designing these recreations of the film’s characters. The Barbies have an incredible resemblance to the actors, unlike some of the past Disney barbie dolls.

The Poppins doll set includes a magic bag, a scarf, a hat, and red heels to match her iconic blue striped dress. The Jack doll has a hat and a lamplighter, true to his character.

Right In Time for the Holiday Season

As with any holiday toy release, parents will be excited to give their kids the latest and greatest of Barbie dolls. The Mary Poppins dolls were released on November 1st, well in advance of the movie’s December 19 release date.

The dolls retail for $39.99 each. Unfortunately, the set is on back order for the holiday season, but you can still order the individual Mary Poppins and Jack dolls before the holidays hit.
