Donald Trump Calls Stephen Colbert a “No-Talent Guy”, Slams Media
In an interview with “Time Magazine” on Thursday, President Donald Trump called “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert a “no-talent guy” who talks “filthy”.
The President also referred to CNN’s Chris Cuomo as someone who appears like a “chained lunatic” on television. Meanwhile, Don Lemon was referred to as “perhaps the dumbest person in broadcasting.”
The remarks came after the POTUS was asked about his comments about the media. Trump, who is not necessarily known to having saint-like patience, immediately aired his frustration and bewilderment as to how journalistic criticism had become much worse after he took his seat at the Oval Office, criticizing MSNBC, CBS and CNN. The one network he praised was Fox News.
After ranting about the unfairness of media networks, President Trump also brought up Stephen Colbert’s harsh and crude May 1 monologue on the “Late Show” wherein the comedian lambasted the president and even delivered an oral-sex joke about Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In the monologue, Colbert didn’t mince words, calling Trump’s presidency a “Disgrace the Nation”. He added that Trump has “more people marching against you than cancer. You talk like a sign-language gorilla that got hit in the head. In fact, the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c**k holster.”
Trump has this to say about Colbert’s antics: “You see a no-talent guy like Colbert. There’s nothing funny about what he says. And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching. And it only builds up my base. It only helps me, people like him. The guy was dying.”
“By the way, they were going to take him off television, then he started attacking me and he started doing better. But his show was dying. I’ve done his show … But when he did his show, which by the way was very highly rated. I was high—highest rating. The highest rating he’s ever had,” he said.
