Couple Literally Takes the Plunge for Epic Daredevil Wedding
Daredevil couple Mickey Wilson and Purple McMullen-Laird exchanged their “I dos” in a way that no faint-hearted person would ever dare to replicate.
Ordinary couples walk down the aisle on their wedding day, Mickey and Purple slacklined toward a makeshift altar – a huge net with a hole in the middle suspended 400 feet above a humongous crater in a Utah canyon.
The professional slacklining athlete shared their special day on his Instagram account. In one post, Mickey uploaded a photo of him slacklining towards the suspended net in his tuxedo.
“One of the best slackline walks of my life. No harness, just a rope tied around my ankle, dressed to kill, many friends and loved ones looking on, walking out to the matrimonial spacenet,” wrote Mickey in the caption.
In another photograph, the bride can be seen carefully slacklining in her purple gown, while the groom proudly looks on.
“I love you Purple Wilson!!!! You were the most stunning and breathtaking bride. This was the best day of my life,” captioned Mickey.
The bride took a lot longer to reach the net because it was windy.
“I was focused on not letting the wind knock me off,” Purple told the Inside Edition.
After exchanging their wedding vows, Mickey carried his bride on his arms and bungee-jumped through the hole on the net, to the surprise of many.
“Sometimes they call getting married taking the plunge. Guess I take things too literally sometimes…,” Mickey captioned the photo of them falling down.
The wedding of this daredevil couple is definitely one for the books and the event was even made special by the gorgeous sunset and epic scenery.
“Just after swinging into marriage at sunset in one of the most beautiful places in the world surrounded by so many amazing friends and family members, Purple and I took a private moment. Just us and the desert sunset,” posted the groom.
