These Cute ‘Pet Shaming’ Pictures of Misbehaving Animals are Hilarious
If you own a pet or have ever come in contact with a domestic animal, you know that these four-legged friends have a knack for getting themselves into trouble. Most of the time their mess ups are innocent enough, but sometimes they can do real damage to their surroundings and themselves. Despite all the shenanigans our beloved pets get into, we can’t help but love them, and often-times laugh at them. For that reason, the “pet shaming” craze has become a super “pawpular” phenomenon. If you’re in need of some laughs, or just want to see some cute animals, check out these hilariously naughty cats and dogs who were caught by their owners making mischief.
This precious pooch has a bed, crate and food bowl all fit for a pup. But with the addition of a new human sibling to the family, things changed for better or for worse. It seems seeing the manner in which the infant was fed stirred something in this extremely cute pet.
Perhaps this pooch was accustomed to being the baby of the family, or maybe it was just a case of imitation as the best form of flattery, but either way, this little scavenger took up the odd behavior of self-bottle feeding (and eating said bottle). No hard feelings though, it’s all puppy love for the baby.
The “hangry” pooch is throwing some “I done it, so what?” shade after committing a double-doggy no-no. It’s known that dogs have a hypersensitive sense of smell and can track things that us mere humans could never detect with our snouts alone.
With an apparent hankering for meat, this dog went hounding for a carnivorous fix when he not only jumped into a stranger’s car but straight up snatched a hamburger out of an unassuming passenger’s hands. Well, at least this hairy “Hamburglar” seems to have got his happy meal.
Urine for a Surprise
This one is equal parts hilarious and disgusting, but mainly hilarious. This little fur ball was apparently pissed at her housemate and took out her rage (and bladder) on something that was definitely not her litter box – moreover, it was the HAMSTER!
Cats are notorious for “doing their business” in the most inappropriate of places, but this one is so ridiculous we have to believe it was on “purrpose.” The naughty kitty seemed to know she was in trouble and adorably hid under a table hoping to avoid scorn. Hopefully, the poor hamster recovered from the ordeal, but we’re ROFL.
Dazed and Cat-fused
Despite its cute name, the herb catnip has a behavior-altering effect on felines. While exuding an enticing aroma, the chemical compound found in catnip is known to have a stimulant effect that produces a sensation akin to a “high” when sniffed by a cat.
And this loopy little kitty appears to have found out the hard way that rolling around in the aromatic green stuff can leave one “pawsitively” doped. If that glazed stare is any indicator, this “blazed” buddy could care less about his owners shaming him, or anything else for that matter.
The Force was apparently awakened in this curly little cutie… to tinkle. With no apparent reverence for the legendary Jedi Master, this pooch took a rogue “number one” on Yoda, he did. Well, that’s one way to effectively douse out any danger from the wise green master’s lightsaber…
Still, the adorable offender does not look too worried about any Jedi returning to avenge the out-of-this-world wrongdoing. Although his owners are bound to put the stuffed Yoda far, far away from now on, we couldn’t imagine anyone going all Darth Vader on such a cutie-pie!
Keeping reading for more adorable examples of pets doing just the darndest things.
Canine and Abel
It appears some divine inspiration took hold of this pious pooch who miraculously devoured two Bible in one week. We’re not sure whether downing such a sacred snack makes one increasingly blessed or puts them on the path of the sacrilegious.
Well, we’re not sure those rules really apply to dogs. But, if this picture is any indicator, this mutt does not seem to be trembling in fear of the wrath of the Heavens. Actually, he looks pretty angelic. Then again, he’s digested Deuteronomy… and the rest of the sacred scriptures.
Doggy See as Doggy Doo-Doo
Well, that’s one way to mark your territory… Not only did this Dachshund decided to do his doo-doo inside the house, but he did it in a way that ensured no one could escape the scent of his stool.
While this little party pooper’s owners were no doubt dealing with an “appawling” vent blockage, they managed to have the good humor to snap this adorable announcement to the world about their Wiener Dog’s fecal “faux paw.”
A Spoonful of Glitter
This one proves that all that glitters DEFINITELY isn’t gold. Actually, it can be crap – literally. While the debate about glitter’s impact on the environment rages, this sweet-faced pup just said “bark it” and ate a bottle of the shimmery substance.
His owners were probably frantically worried about what their precious pet had just consumed. Although he looks a little tired from the whole ordeal, things seemed to have come out alright, if not slightly sparkly. Seriously, that is one magical “tail.”
Hot Air Dog
Maybe they should change this dog’s name to Chanel no. 9. Although from the looks of it, this Golden Retriever doesn’t smell anything like a luxury perfume brand. In fact, this blondie, every-so-elegantly named Chanel, was somewhat of a “ruff-ian.”
After stealing NINE hot dogs off the kitchen counter, Chanel was full of hot air. While her owners said the stench was “clear the room” bad, they seem to have taken their chances and approached the guilty gas-passer long enough to capture the darn-tootin’ hilarious photo.
Cat Ate My Homework
This cat gets a big old “F” for eating her owner’s thesis paper 20 minutes before it was due. Although no one will ever believe her owner for using the age-old excuse for not doing homework, the face in this picture pretty much convinces us who the culprit is.
We seriously hope this pet owner had a backup copy, otherwise, Pond is going to be in deep trouble. From what it looks like, though, Pond’s owner used those 20 minutes until the due date to take this shaming snap of this cat that belongs in detention.
We’ve seen “Black Mirror” and “The Matrix” and all the other cautionary tales about technology. Perhaps this buck-toothed pup had been watching too many dystopian futuristic flicks with his owners, because he just up and went all “Blade Runner” on this robotic vacuum cleaner.
This little fella seems pretty proud of what he appeared to think was his successful neutralization of a killer bot roaming the floors of his humble abode in an attempt to attack its inhabitants. Incidentally, what the fearless pooch destroyed was a new $700 Roomba. Way to go, buddy!
If you thought that pet shaming post was hilarious, the next one will have you rolling on the floor (like a good dog) laughing!
Fishing for Trouble
Holy mackerel! At first look, this black fur ball looks pretty grumpy, but perhaps he’s just suffering from an upset stomach. Domestic cats are known to have a fondness for fish, but usually, that means eating the amphibious creatures or pawing at them.
In this case, perhaps the cat was totally disgusted by his fellow pet or mistook the fishbowl for a toilet bowl. Or, maybe he was feeling a little seasick because instead of trying to pull something out of the tank, he left something in it (ick!). Needless to say, now he’s looking kind of green around the gills.
A Sticky Situation
Who’s a sweet dog? This one is for sure. This pet’s encounter with a bag of what we’re going to go ahead and call “pawdered” sugar, had the Internet reeling with laughter and hilariously making references to a certain scene from “Scarface.”
Unfazed by the copious amounts of evidence and the shaming note detailing the crime, this noble pooch’s head remains high, albeit covered in an incriminating white “stache.” Oh, sweet mother of pearl that’s going to be a nightmare to clean up.
Unconditional Puppy Love
Oh. My. Goodness. That face! This pooch is sporting the epitome of puppy eyes right here. Although there is little scientific evidence to suggest that pets consciously manipulate humans with their facial expressions, we think this precious pug knows what he did and is very sorry.
Honestly, we’d let him eat almost anything and just sit there gawking at how adorable he is. Forget eating the baseball helmet and the shaming note – how can you even pretend to be upset at that? It’s just a shame we can’t cuddle this little cutie every day.
These two brave pooches were merely trying to save their owner’s Hyundai from a pesky squirrel. The tired looking little fella on the right kind of looks like a lion, so there’s no doubt he’s brave like one. It’s in his genes!
Even though the villainous squirrel was eventually chased away and the day was definitely saved, the Hyundai’s bumper wasn’t as lucky. Or was it the fender? We can’t really tell with all the mess the two guilty looking doggos made. Well, at least they’re cute!
Someone’s “Feline” Frisky
Someone was rolling around in the hay…This frisky feline apparently had some barnyard fun and ended up getting knocked up. While this might be a lesson for getting your pets spayed and neutered, we can’t deny that this “accident” resulted in a most adorable little litter.
Although they inevitably have more mouths to feed now, the good-humored owners of this cat had a hilarious response to her, erm, midnight prowling… and the consequences of what can happen if you don’t use “purrtection.”
Okay, this is not exactly what those are supposed to be for. This adorable, floppy duo was apparently entangled in uncovering the secrets of the “Feminine Mystique” when they found themselves in somewhat of a sticky situation.
We hope those innocuous expressions exempt them from any disciplinary action, but seriously, who could help but laugh at this sanitary snafu. Although the mix-up is understandable, we’re just glad these two found unused “treats.” Period.
A Load of Defiant Cuteness
Dogs are known to love to burrow into soft, fluffy things. And that’s apparently what this little bundle of sweets appears to be doing. Unfortunately, that’s no basket of fresh-smelling threads straight out of the dryer; that’s a basket full of dank laundry.
Although the pup seems curled up in comfortable disconcert, his owners seemed to somewhat nonplussed about his preference for snoozing in the unwashed pile rather than his own doggy bed and house. Let’s just hope it’s not an endless cycle.
Read on for more instances of pets that got the short end of the stick for their hysterically obnoxious behavior.
Kids are notorious for sneaking into their mother’s makeup stashes and into their wallets. Dogs, on the other hand, aren’t so much. Well, no one told that to this petite pooch, who like a rebellious teenager looks like she made plans to head out for a night on the town.
Well, mom woke up and caught her red-handed – or should we say red-pawed. Her owner is only out $3 in cash, but that leather couch looks like it might cost a pretty penny to clean. The pigmented pup posed so nicely for her mugshot though, and that’s priceless.
A Hairy Situation
That’s definitely not what is meant by gastric banding surgery. This poor little tyke ate 54 (54!) hair ties and then needed two surgeries to remove the foreign object. We just feel downright sorry for this cute kitty after such a traumatic experience.
If that face doesn’t just make you want to wrap little Cooper up and protect him forever, we don’t know what will. Luckily, this precious whisker face seems to have pulled through. While we know most cats have issues with hairballs, who can explain this one’s curious obsession with hair elastics?
A Not-So-Healthy Appetite
This adorable little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is in a bit of a hairy situtaion. While dogs usually eat things that are less-than-appetizing for humans, munching on something the cat threw up, let alone a hairball, is really quite disgusting.
We’re also pretty sure that eating another animal’s throw up can’t be healthy for any creature, no matter how strong their digestive system may be, so this pup probably gave its owners a bit of a scare. Who could stay angry at that face, though?
Sponge Bob Square Pooch
Nautical nonsense is something this dog SO doesn’t wish. We can’t help but crack up at this dog’s complete apathy after eating a toy Spongebob pineapple. But, yeah, we get it… that talking yellow sponge guy can get on our nerves too.
Although most of us don’t have the audacity to deal with the utter chagrin that watching endless hours of children’s show can bring with it, this pooch had no problem shutting down the show. Seems like someone sure had a bone to pick with Nickelodeon.
Oh ya, you’re just lounging around now. But that’s not what this four-pawed was doing earlier. In a classic case of a jealous kitty marking their space, this sneaky crawler named Spider not-so-subtly let his owner know that he wanted to be the only man in her life.
Let’s just hope “mommy’s boyfriend” didn’t take too much offense at this unappetizing welcoming gift. But, maybe get some of that catnip from earlier and use it as a decoy. Otherwise, you might want to think of calling a kitty exorcist.
It looks like this little sofa killer is coming down from cloud nine after tearing open the couch and unleashing an overflowing cascade of fluffy white stuffing. Beagles were bred as hunting dogs, but we’re not sure that meant staking out the upholstery.
Given his lack of eye contact and tail curling upward between his legs, it seems that this destroyer of furniture knows he’s been a bad boy. To be honest, though, if it weren’t for the shaming note, we’d barely have even noticed the sofa… how cute is that face!
Almost Potty Trained
Too funny! Okay, but once you stop laughing about this, when you actually think about it, this is probably one of the most responsible pet shenanigans we’ve heard about so far. This Husky seriously puts the “shower” in “golden shower.”
By the look on this pooch’s face, he doesn’t think he did anything wrong. And you know what, at least this Husky made it to the bathroom, even if the facility of choice isn’t exactly made for that… This puts a whole new spin on house training.
You won’t believe what the pets on the next couple of slides did to end up on a short leash, read on!
Pizza Party Pooch
Talk about a picky eater! This spotted Great Dane could probably outsmart Cruella DeVille with the meticulous thinking skills demonstrated in her pizza party for one that led to this photo. While taking food is not a condoned behavior, this dog hilariously didn’t eat the whole bounty.
Apparently not a cheese lover, this confiscated pizza was discovered by this dog’s owner to be, well, at least partly intact. Perhaps this pooch was just being conscious of carbs, but seriously, who does that? Pizza anyone?
This must be where the term “copycat” comes from. This unassuming little fluffy friend looks innocent enough, but she’s harboring some bad habits. As if going wee on your owner’s clothing isn’t bad enough, convincing others to follow suit is even worse!
This cat looks pretty proud of herself for being the lead of the pack – the pack of pee-ers, that is. Seriously, cats have a litter box for a reason. If only they followed that logic… Alas, cats love to demonstrate their fierce independence, even if that results in more laundry for humans.
This penitent little pooch just melts our hearts! It’s not even clear how something so small and precious could reach that far up on the shower curtain, but if you ask us, it looks like poor little Ellie here was just trying to help.
Her adorably downtrodden pose here indicates that she knows she shouldn’t have done what she did, but it also ensures that no one can stay mad at her too long. Seriously, have you ever seen such a perfect little monster?
The One that Started it All
When Beau the Dachshund was caught eating the underwear of his owner Pascale Lemire’s boyfriend, the couple snapped the photo that started the whole pet confessional phenomenon. It all started in 2012 and boomed into a viral sensation and later a bestselling book.
That just goes to show that before you get mad at your pooch for messing up, turn it into an adorable Internet post and your dog days will be behind you. Luckily, Beau hasn’t put a stop to his adorable antics or irresistible puppy dog eyes. God bless Beau for providing us with endless hours of entertainment!
Game of Mouse and Cat
It seems this kitty has never watched an episode of “Tom and Jerry.” Otherwise, that mouse would be her food! Hello, you’re a cat, you’re supposed to keep those little pests away from the house. Silly kitty…
Apparently, for this “meowser,” a game of cat and mouse actually means a staring competition. Not sure the mouse was informed of that one, though. Earth to kitty! Okay, she’s really got that deadpan staring thing down. At least she’s pretty…
Can I Get a Little Privacy?
We’ve all been there. Going to do our business in private, when out of nowhere, an uninvited little head pops around the corner and comes to watch. “Umm…can I help you?” we usually ask to no avail.
Are they trying to guard us? Are they just giving us stink eye (no pun intended)? Theories abound about the feline tendency to follow people to the loo, but then again they have a lot of odd behaviors and we’ve just kind of accepted the fact that they’re going to be weird.
Cat’s got your tongue because you’re giggling so much? The next slide will definitely have you crying – with laughter.
Gone to the Dogs
We don’t know what’s funnier, the fact that this poodle looks downright despondent, or that he took a leak on a little girl’s leg at the dog park. Seriously, how did that even happen? Did the dog think the little girl was a tree?
Although that little girl is probably traumatized, we can’t help but laugh at the perfectly-timed snap of this dog sporting a glum expression and the explanation of his outrageous indiscretion strung around his neck. How about sticking to the grass next time, ‘ol boy.
“Yogata” Clean This Up
Well isn’t that just zen…not! This repentant-looking Pug decided it would be a good idea to do some, erm, downward dog poses on her owner’s yoga mat. That’s not exactly what you want to deal with when trying to get into a meditative mindset.
Our concentration would be totally out the window in the face of that snuggly little snout. But for her owner’s sake, this darling pup is going to have to “nama-stay” away from the yoga mats from now on.
Dog Eat Dog(food) World
Just look at that mischievous mutt seemingly cheesing at his own clever tricks. Like most brothers, there seems to be some sibling rivalry here. This furry fella seems to have no shame, and in fact seems quite pleased with himself, for pulling a fast one on his bro.
It’s always funny when animals seem to portray human emotions on their faces, but this pearly white-brandishing pup takes the cake (and his brother’s dinner at that). Just look at that proud posture, that smile… this dog doesn’t feel the least bit bad about his misdeeds.
Oh no she didn’t! This is simultaneously hilarious, disgusting and horrifying. That innocent face indicates that this cat has no idea that this is not a good idea. Once you get over the initial shock of this prophylactic-eating feline, the giggles will ensue.
On a serious note, though, we really hope this cat didn’t suffer from any health scares due to this not-so-safe behavior. We’re not even going to ask where this cat found the rubbers, but let’s just hope this is just a phase.
This double threat of doggy naughtiness is just too cute for words. This pair of housemates seems to have a hankering for wrestling, and they pull out all of the dirty tricks to win. It can’t be denied that taking a whizz on your opponent’s head isn’t really fair play.
But the punishment seems to match the crime in this canine-on-canine smackdown. While dogs are known to faux-fight as a form of play, we’re not sure we’ve ever heard of peeing as a tactic for getting out of the tangle. It’s all fun and games until something has to clean up.
Cat’s Got Your Cake
No those aren’t candle imprints in the cake. The “purrpetrator” here seems clear. Someone somehow got their paws on the prize and they’re not ashamed. Knowing cats, this really is a conniving way to wish someone happy birthday.
Not sure anyone ordered cat hair in their confetti cake, though. That stoic look doesn’t seem to indicate any remorse. Maybe the baker here should find another place to cool their goodies because this cake stomper doesn’t look like letting go of his whisker-licking habit anytime soon.
Don’t miss the last couple of slides that are sure to brighten even the worst of days.
Hitting a guide puppy is definitely a no-no worthy of a cat shaming post no matter how adorable you are. That poor guide puppy was probably just trying to learn the ropes so that he (or she) could grow up and help people in need.
Then this whiskered Rocky wannabe probably came along and took a swipe at the pooch. That kind of tom(cat)foolery warrants some punishment, and now the whole Internet knows about this meow-maker’s unsavory conduct. Talk about acting in blind rage…
No Couch Potato
Dogs have a tendency to be fond of balls and sticks. They love to spend hours digging and hiding these toys and then later re-digging them up or leaving them for humans to find in the most unassuming of places.
However, this lovable Weimaraner with endearingly droopy eyes and matching droopy ears seems to be less into the squeaky toys and more into spuds. That’s right, this scavenger hunt-loving hooch doesn’t actually eat the contriband potatoes, rather this potato-loving pooch prefers to hide them everywhere.
Oh good lord… this sounds like it could be straight out of a movie. Actually, to think of it, it does sound kind of similar to that cringe-worthy scene with Jinxy from “Meet the Parents.” Poor Granny probably did not foresee this as her fate.
For real though, how did the cat even get the lid off the urn? Cats may have nine lives, but humans only have one and those ashes are pretty invaluable. To look on the bright side, at least the cat didn’t think it was a litter box?
The Cat’s Meow
Sure this black and white cutie looks calm now, but when the strike of 4 a.m. comes around this cat starts acting more like an opera diva (or a colicky baby) belting out a middle-of-the-night meow musical.
While people usually swoon over the precious little “mews” that kittens make, grown cats – like this one – know it’s a special form of vocalization that they use to manipulate humans. That’s usually alright with us, but not once our REM cycle has kicked in! No encore for you…
That’s Not a Toy
It’s probably best to stick to inanimate objects when playing games of fetch. Unfortunately, no one told this innocent-looking bundle of love who apparently likes to dabble in some X-rated hobbies. Well, animals walk around in their “birthday suits” all the time, so maybe it’s normal.
We might expect this kind of behavior from a Wiener Dog or Cocker Spaniel, but at least this improper pooch is a relatively little specimen. Guess there’s no following people into the bathroom for this one… Ouch.
