Get Your Crime Shoes On—Veronica Mars Is Coming Back

Published

Marshmallows, prepare yourselves: rumor has it that Veronica Mars is no longer in the past. Behind the scenes, creator Rob Thomas and Kristen Bell have signed on for a reboot of the series. Hulu will be bringing back the private eye we fell in love with more than 10 years ago!

It’s Not The First Return

This isn’t the first time Veronica Mars has been brought back from the dead. Its 2013 Kickstarter was the most successful campaign of its time; it brought in the quickest $1 million the site had ever experienced. In total, the campaign raised almost $6 million.

This gave fans closure following a cliffhanger at the end of season three, with Veronica’s relationship to Piz, Keith’s standing, and the state of Neptune all in jeopardy.

Following Up With Different Content

Rob Thomas then followed up the movie with two books, “The Thousand Dollar Tan Line” and “Mr. Kiss and Tell.” However, fans were left wanting more after receiving a taste of the show they had come to love. Ms. Mars had quickly become a cult favorite in her time on television.

Five years later, it seems that die-hard fans will see their favorite crime-solving heroine once again. Will Neptune be just as shady as before? Will Veronica be able to sleuth around and find answers? Only Hulu will have the answer for us.

What Will This Season Bring To The Table?

No details have been released—after all, we’ve yet to see an official announcement. Whether her boyfriend, best friends, and father will reappear once again is anyone’s guess. But fans are excited nevertheless, placing trust in the show’s creator to deliver.

Bustle

Though Kristen Bell is currently working on the hit show “The Good Place,” filming for Veronica Mars will not conflict with her comedy’s film schedule. However, filming both shows may mean a smaller list of episodes for the detective.

Keep on the lookout: an announcement from Hulu, Bell, and Thomas may be coming sooner than we think.
