The Saga Continues

Debuting on YouTube Red on May 2, Cobra Kai reunites Karate Kid stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka. Both stars were extremely ecstatic to reprise their roles for a newer generation. This isn’t the first time that talk of a live-action Karate Kid show was being thrown around.

“I’ve been asked and pitched many times over the years. This was a smart and fresh angle, and I believe things happen at a certain time for a certain reason, and this was just the right time,” Macchio said at the Television Critics Association press tour. Macchio and Zabka reunited in 2007 for No More Kings’ music video for “Sweep the Leg,” which was produced by Zabka.

Balance Is Key

Cobra Kai was co-created by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who are best known for the Harold & Kumar franchise. Aside from Macchio and Zabka, the show will also star Body of Proof actress Mary Mouser, Designated Survivor actor Tanner Buchanan, and Parenthood actor Xolo Maridueña.
