Christopher Nolan Might Be Directing Bond 25

Published

Christopher Nolan might be directing Bond 25. IMDb Pro recently listed the director’s own Syncopy as a production company on the next film in the franchise. Nolan founded the production company with his wife Emma Thomas, who has produced many of his films.

Nolan has also directed almost every film produced by Syncopy, with the exception of Man of Steel, which was directed by Zack Snyder. So, if the reports are correct, there’s a good chance he will be directing Bond’s next adventure.

Now, it should be noted that IMDb’s users could update the website’s information, like Wikipedia. However, a Bond fan account—which broke the original news—has stated that IMDb double-checked and confirmed the information.

Nolan’s directorial debut was a uniquely British, neo-noir film called Following.

He later directed Memento, which was based on a short story written by his brother, Jonathan Nolan, before moving onto The Dark Knight Trilogy.

Nolan has already returned to his national roots with Dunkirk, a WWII film concerning the Dunkirk evacuation of 1940, which is slated to hit theaters on July 21, 2017.

So, who better to direct Britain’s most famous hero since King Arthur?

Nevertheless, these rumors come shortly after Bond producers were said to be eying Sherlock’s Paul McGuigan to direct Bond 25. Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were apparently impressed by the work he did on their upcoming project Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, which stars Annette Bening and Jamie Bell.

It’s already been confirmed that Daniel Craig is up for his fifth outing as Bond, even after stating that he’d rather slash his wrists than return as the iconic character.

Skyfall and Spectre director, Sam Mendes, will not be returning.

According to The Wrap, a total of five Hollywood studios are in competition for the rights to the next movie. They include Warner Bros., Universal, 20th Century Fox, Annapurna Pictures, and the franchise’s previous home, Sony Pictures.
