Chelsea Clinton Comes To The Defense of Barron Trump In Facebook Post

Published

on

Hillary Clinton’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, has come to the defense of Donald Trump’s son, Barron Trump, against internet cyber bullies. In a Facebook post, the former fist daughter said that Barron Trump deserves the right to be like any other kid and be treated as such. In a twist, her Sunday Facebook post went on to say that standing up to be a kid meant opposing policies that would hurt children.

Her Facebook post followed an internet attack on 10-year-old Barron Trump after the Friday presidential inauguration. People on social media trolled him for his ‘lack of engagement’ during the inauguration.

The former first daughter, who spent a big part of her childhood at the White House all through her father’s administration, received mixed reactions on social media. Some people supported her views while other called her ‘hypocritical’.

Some people said that they found the former first daughter hypocritical for standing up to defend the president’s son while at the same time bashing the president’s policies.

One of the Facebook users commented that if Chelsea Clinton agreed that kids should not be targeted it is okay but the former first daughter should leave it at that.

Another user in support acknowledged her for being ‘Classy like her mother’ and declared love for her for advocating for all children. Other users in support acknowledged that children of public figures are deserving of privacy, just like the kids of ordinary folk.

In the past one year, Barron Trump has received his fair share of online attacks from celebrities, media personalities and the public in general. The internet has always come out to defend him.

On Friday, Katie Rich, a Saturday Night Live writer, received a lot of backlash from the internet for tweeting that Barron Trump will become the country’s first home-school shooter. People called her out telling her that her joke was ‘in bad taste’ and ‘disgusting’ for targeting the youngest Trump while others called for NBC to lay her off. She has since then deleted the post.

Rosie O’Donnell shared a YouTube video that insinuated that the young Trump may have autism. The video documented that Baron had symptoms that indicated he had the condition. She then received a lot of criticism for that. In response she said that she has nothing against Trump’s children and meant no ill intention, as she in fact has a child suffering from the disorder.

Actress Julie Bowen, Modern Family actress also faced backlash for posting close up photos of Barron during the inauguration.
