Sir Whines-A-Lot is a Company Cat Who Grabs Money from Strangers for a Good Cause

GuRuStu, an advertising company in Tulsa, Oklahoma adopted a kitten when the office was being constructed to serve as a natural predator for mice and other pests. However, everybody in the office saw the cat as more than just a pest controller; they adored him so much that they decided to keep and call him ‘Sir Whines-A-Lot.’

Sir Whines-A-Lot keeps the employees of the advertising firm entertained every day, but during the last week of August, 2017 he took entertainment to another level. Everybody at the office was surprised to find the cat surrounded by money one morning.

“It kept happening, but we didn’t know why. So, we decided to test a theory,” GuRuStu Founder Stuard McDaniel told The Dodo. “We tried sliding money through the gap in the door, and the cat hopped up and snatched it.”

McDaniel concluded that some occupants in the building may have tried to get the attention of the cat by sliding a dollar bill in the gap at the door and Sir Whines-A-Lot snatched it away.

As news about what the cat became public, McDaniel found more and more money on the floor.

“It’s become a game. It costs you a dollar to play, ‘cause the cat’s going to get your money,” McDaniel said. “When the money comes through, he pats it. Like, ‘This is my money now.’”

Considering the increasing amount of money, the cat was making, McDaniel decided to make good use out of the situation by donating it to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.

McDaniel also dubbed the cat as CASHnip Kitty and posted a “warning” on the door of the office for people to be informed.
