From Then To Now: See What The Cast Of Gossip Girl Is Up To Today

Published

on

Gossip Girl became a huge phenomenon for teens and young adults in the late 2000s. The scripted show centered around the lifestyles and drama of privileged teens living in Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The popular show also helped to launch the careers of stars like Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford, and, of course, Blake Lively. Check out what some of the cast has been up to since Gossip Girl wrapped in 2012.

Blake Lively Shines Bright In Hollywood

Blake was great as one of the show’s major roles,  Serena van der Woodsen. After the show, her career really took off in Hollywood. Blake went on to star in several great films like The Town, Green Lantern, The Age of Adaline, and The Shallows. The actress also found love and got married to Deadpool himself, Mr. Ryan Reynolds. The couple has two beautiful daughters, James and Inez.

See which of Blake’s co-stars has a new show coming soon to ABC…

Leighton Meester Rises Again

Leighton stole the show as Serena’s manipulative best friend (and sometimes enemy), Blair Waldorf. After Gossip Girl, Leighton had some big films including The Roommate, Monte Carlo, and The Judge. She’s also set to star in the upcoming ABC sitcom, Single Parents, alongside Taran Killam this fall. Leighton found love with actor Adam Brody, and the two were married in 2014. The couple also has a daughter, Arlo Day Brody.

Check out which actor from the show branched off into music.

Penn Badgley Turns To Music

Penn really had the hearts of girls everywhere as Dan Humphrey on the show. After the show wrapped, though, he hasn’t acted as much as his fellow co-stars. He’s starred in a few movies like Easy A and Margin Call, and has a new show on Lifetime, You, coming soon. However, Penn also has turned his talents to music! He fronts Brooklyn-based indie band MOTHXR, which released their debut album Centrefold in 2016. The actor is also off the market now, having married longtime-girlfriend, Domino Kirke, in February 2017.

Read on to see which of Penn’s co-stars is playing a murderer in his next role.

Chace Crawford Keeps Chasing The Dream

Chace played nice guy, Nate Archibald, on Gossip Girl, and the ladies definitely loved him. After the show ended, though, his career definitely slowed down a bit. However, Chace’s work has been picking back up in recent years. He has been cast in upcoming Amazon Studios series, The Boys, and will star in thriller film Charlie Says as murderer, Tex Watson. Certainly a far cry from Nate.

This next popular Gossip Girl actor hasn’t been seen much recently, having some serious allegations against him right now…

Ed Westwick Keeps A Low Profile

Ed Westwick played the forever complicated bad boy, Chuck Bass, on the show. Since Gossip Girl ended, the actor appeared in some movies and shows, including Romeo & Juliet, Billionaire Ransom, and Wicked City. He was doing well on BBC comedy series White Gold when he was hit with several allegations of sexual assault in 2017. Because of the allegations, production of White Gold has been paused. There’s no telling what’s up next for Ed right now.
