Many ’90s pop culture junkies thought they’d never hear from Bill & Ted again. But after 27 years since Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, we’re getting a new adventure with our time traveling friends. Excellent!

Party On, Dudes

Plans are officially underway for the third movie in the Bill & Ted movie franchise. The movie is titled Bill & Ted Face the Music, and it’ll be directed by Dean Parisot. Scott Kroopf, who produced the first two films, will return as a producer along with Oscar-nominated producer Steven Soderbergh.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio

The plot of the film revolves around Bill & Ted saving the universe with a simple song. If the two don’t come up with the perfect hit, everything will be destroyed. Aside from Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, William Sadler will reprise his role of The Grim Reaper. Certain characters from the first two movies will make cameo appearances as well.

Be Excellent To Each Other

Talks of another Bill & Ted movie started around 2010 when Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon announced they were writing a script. Over the years, numerous drafts were written before landing the final version.

“I think it’s kind of like A Christmas Carol with Bill and Ted. Looking at their lives and really kind of rediscovering what they’re about,” Solomon told Entertainment Weekly. This film is also intended to be a tribute to the late George Carlin, who played Bill & Ted‘s mentor, Rufus.

The news of Bill & Ted 3 made the film a trending topic over on Twitter. “I might be crying on the bus because of Bill and Ted 3. Funny what little things overwhelm you when everything is so massively overwhelming,” Twitter user RaggedyAuthor said.

Santa Claus is even excited for the movie, but he has a way to make it better. “I want Bill and Ted 3 to be a crossover with the Terminator series, where Arnold Schwarzenegger is sent back in time to protect Wyld Stallyns from the T-1000,” he tweeted.
