American Horror Story 7 Will Have Hillary and Trump Characters
Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the American Horror Story (AHS) series has reversed himself. He says that the next installment of the horror allegory series WILL have a Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. He still maintains that they will not be the focus of the plot. Earlier this year, he had said neither presidential candidate would be a part of the new season. He told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that despite the new, election theme, he was not putting the two into the plot. He said, ““he themes of American Horror Story have always been allegories … You will not see Trump and Clinton as characters on the show.”
Murphy Changes Direction of the Show
The Emmy winner told E! News that the two politicians will be in the season after all but clarified how big those roles would be:
I think people literally think Sarah Paulson is playing Hillary Clinton and I wanted to clarify that that is not true. ‘Horror Story’ is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It’s our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps, is a horror story. And you know, that show is always so fun when it’s about the zeitgeist and what we’re doing now.
Fans of the series know that the creators like to keep people guessing. In the months leading up to season 6, teasers and graphics were released that featured a question mark. It was not until the series begun that the theme was known by the public.
The new AHS season is currently scheduled to start back up in September. Murphy says that although they have started shooting the next season, he has not cast the actors to play Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump yet.
